So Much To Tell

And so little time in which to tell it because we snuck off to New York for a long weekend and a big family wedding!  I’d include pictures of that and of what’s going on in the winery except my camera disappeared during the trip (aargh).  So here’s a verbal snapshot:

* There are 12 barrels of 2008 Pinot Noir (look forward to hearing about their names)

* Jim racked the Pinot Gris today which is turning out to be VERY interesting and fruity and lemony at the same time

* Our label design is coming along – we haven’t talked much about this but it’s amazing how much you have to thinkabout when you are designing a label

* Everyone we talked to in New York, at the airports in Portland and NY, random people we met like a security guard at The Morgan Library in NY, all seem fascinated by wine making and the “art” of taking the land, allowing it to produce the fruit of the vine and then the special winemaker’s touch.

Maybe I’ll figure out how to take pictures with my phone and put them on this website.  I can just hear my son now when I call him for instructions on doing that!
